A principal contractor managing multi-million-pound commercial building projects in the North West, Portal Construction NW Limited switched to Fabric when their old IT supplier could no longer handle their scale.

Large data volumes

When Portal Construction NW needed a new IT system for their new premises in 2016, they chose Fabric as their provider.

“Fabric was one of the companies recommended by our previous IT provider,” explains company manager Jackie Bedwell. “We needed a system that could handle large volumes of architectural drawings, which are frequently updated.”

“Fabric handled the installation and data migration of our new on-premises server and computers.”

Overcoming challenges

The project was made trickier by many delays to the company’s leased line installation, but Fabric rose to the challenge. “It was all done very painlessly, under difficult circumstances,” says Jackie.

The company also relies on Fabric for IT support, although problems have been rare.

“There have been very few issues, which is testament to the quality of the system,” continues Jackie. “Everything runs very smoothly, and Fabric have been excellent to work with.”
