We have had some issues reported since the recent windows upgrade that has caused users to be unable to connect to the VPN using the shortcut in the system tray.
The error message that users are reporting is that it is stuck in a connecting state like below.
The VPN will then timeout without any error.
This is a known Microsoft issue which can occur after upgrades to the 1903 version of Windows. Microsoft is working on a resolution to this.
While this issue is ongoing, there is a workaround that you can use to continue to connect to the VPN. Please see the below steps:
1. Click on the tray icon symbol for your network as you would normally do to connect and choose network & internet settings.
2. Then choose VPN from the left-hand side menu.
3. Finally, click on the name of the VPN connection and choose to connect.
Using this method should enable you to continue working remotely while Microsoft works on a resolution.
