Ditching Dated Data

With most purchases we make, whether it be food or furniture, we are encouraged to recycle what we can. So, why would you not do the same with technology?

At Fabric, we are frequently asked what the best and most responsible way to dispose of old IT equipment is.

Can’t I chuck it in the bin?

No. Stop! For a start, electronic devices contain lots of toxic materials, which significantly affect the environment. And secondly, what about all the sensitive information that’s stored on hard drives? Whether it is a business or personal piece of kit, they will contain stored passwords. The data will also include addresses; phone numbers; medical information and licence keys – the list is quite endless.

How compromised would you feel if a stranger could get their hands on this information?

General Data Protection Regulations

Since May 2018, the new GDPR framework came into force, meaning stricter rules for using and storing personal data.
If you are one of our customers, we offer a free IT recycling service. This way, you can dispose of your redundant IT waste and ensure you’re compliant with ISO standards and legislations.

What do I need to do?

Give us a call and let us do the rest.

At Fabric, we will securely store and arrange collection of old IT equipment. The equipment will then be responsibly destroyed and exchanged for a Certificate of Destruction as proof of disposal.

RECYCLING

Next, Be Green!

When you choose to recycle your device, some of the components can be reused and recycled. For example, plastic and glass. This reduces the amount of material needed for new models and saves waste material from ending up in a landfill site. Reducing your E-Waste and helping the environment at the same time.
